action

On a sleepy Irish coast, puzzling things suddenly happen: There are dead whales on the beach, local fishermen disappear without a trace and the old paddy has suddenly caught a strange creature in his trap. At exactly this time, the self-confident young city police officer Lisa Nolan comes to the village to help out as a vacation replacement. While the sensitive and alcohol-inclined village policeman Ciarán O'Shea is initially not very enthusiastic about their presence, the situation changes suddenly when suddenly slimy and jellyfish octopuses invade the place. With common forces you analyze the situation and quickly come to the conclusion that a strong "immunization" in the form of a high alcohol concentration in the blood helps against the small blood-sucking aliens, to which the aliens are extremely allergic, as the blood alcohol is fatal for them works.

Under the pretext of organizing a party in the local pub for the hostess, a small group of insiders gathers to immunize the unsuspecting villagers with alcohol, which mostly works. Unfortunately, the calculation was made without the monster thing, namely the male animal, which is gigantic in size and likes to eat whole people and only leave their heads. In the final duel against the monster, the two policemen Ciarán O'Shea and Lisa Nolan manage, under the influence of alcohol, to lure the alien into a pit remote from the location and kill him there. In the end, the two of them discover that they have cut a pretty good figure as a couple, without realizing, however, that more alien eggs are already about to hatch on the beach.

Reviews

"Grumpy horror comedy about tentacles from space, which is particularly popular with its Irish alcoholism and associated black humor."
