action
Frank and his best friend Tony are two well-known drug dealers in the city . However, they only deal with borrowed heroin, which they get from the gangster Milo. When the police show up at a planned drug deal, Frank has to pour all of the heroin into a lake. This means that the police have nothing against him, but he now owes Milo the money for the drugs. Since he suspects Tony to have betrayed him to the police, he beats him badly and breaks up with him. Combined with the debt from another drug deal and a fine, Frank Milo now owes £ 55,000.
Milo gives him 48 hours to get the money, which starts a desperate race against time for Frank. In the beginning he is supported by Milos thugs, but later harassed himself. Only his girlfriend, the table dancer Flo, sticks to him. However, he is always cool and dismissive towards Flo and even reacts violently when she tries to show her feelings. Frank leaves no stone unturned to get the money. Among other things, he tries to collect debts from acquaintances, asks his mother for money and even assaults other gangsters. However, some of these attempts fail miserably. Finally, he returns to Milo without having achieved anything, who then leaves him badly mistreated. Frank manages to escape. Frank wants to flee to Spain with Flo. From this, Flo draws the hope that Frank does have feelings for her and that a new beginning is possible. A phone call with Milo leads Frank to believe that he can pay off his debt with his last £ 6,000. He cancels the new beginning with Flo. The disappointed Flo steals his money and escapes by taxi. Frank runs after her.

criticism
"Remake of the first film of the same name by Nicolas Winding Refn from 1996. The rather high-gloss, superficial action-drama loses its charm and realism."
“Prieto eradicates the unmistakable, oppressively realistic low-budget atmosphere of Refns Film, stylizes his drug thriller into a perfectly formed, cool adrenaline trip and otherwise retells the story almost unchanged. It's still great fun, but the bottom line is not quite the same as the great Danish original. "
