Richard Czapek (born June 7, 1913 in Vienna ; † September 3, 1997 ibid) was an Austrian composer and interpreter of the Wienerlied .

Live and act

After training as a typesetter, Richard Czapek devoted himself full-time to music. As early as 1927 he composed (together with Bruno Hauer ) his first hit. In 1948 he wrote his first Viennese song A klaner Beserlpark , which was followed by several Viennese songs from his pen. Together with his wife Hilde (née Schödl) he performed as the Duo Czapek at home and abroad as a Wienerlied singer, also on television, for example. B. at Heinz Conrads .

His grave is at the Ottakringer Friedhof (21-10-14).
