Richard Bruce Faulds , MBE (born March 16, 1977 in Guildford ) is a former British marksman in the double trap discipline .
successes
Richard Faulds took part in five Olympic Games . In 1996 he finished fifth in Atlanta and also reached the final of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . There he got a total of 187 points, which is why there was a playoff for the gold medal against Russell Mark . Faulds won the jump-off with three hits against two hits by Mark and became Olympic champion . In 2004 he did not get past 13th place in Athens , while in 2008 he reached the final again in Beijing . He finished last with 180 points and finished sixth overall. His last Olympic participation in London in 2012 , he finished twelfth .
At World Championships in 1998 in Barcelona , Scott won the individual bronze medal, as well as bronze in the team competition in 2007 in Nicosia and 2009 in Maribor . Faulds secured another bronze medal each at the Commonwealth Games in the pair competition in 2002 in Manchester and 2006 in Melbourne .
For his Olympic victory he was made a member of the Order of the British Empire . In 2014 Faulds announced his resignation. He is married and has one child.
