Richard Kadrey

Richard Kadrey (* 1957 ) is an American writer , author and photographer . He lives and works in San Francisco .

Life

In 1978 Kadrey attended the renowned Clarion workshop for budding science fiction and fantasy authors. He is the author of several novels , short stories and comic novels . He wrote for the Smurfs in the early 1980s .

The novel Metrophage is considered one of the most important cyberpunk novels of the 1980s. Kadrey's short story Carbon Copy: Meet the First Human Clone was the template for the TV movie after Amy - No Ordinary Baby with Bridget Fonda in 2001. Sandman Slim is one of Barnes & Noble Best Paranormal Fantasy Novels of the Last Decade (2000-2009 ) .

Kadrey hosted the live show Covert Culture on Hotwired in the 1990s. He has written for Shift and Future Sex magazines, as well as Signum and Stim online magazines . He has published articles on art, culture and technology in Wired , Omni , Mondo 2000 , San Francisco Chronicle , SF Weekly , Ear , Artforum , ArtByte , Bookforum , World Art , Whole Earth Review , Reflex , Science Fiction Eye , Street Tech and others Interzone .

On February 12, 2018 it was announced that director Chad Stahelski would direct a feature film based on Sandman Slim . The script is written by Kerry Williamson .
