Richard Robbins
Richard Stephen Robbins (born December 4, 1940 in South Weymouth , Massachusetts , † November 7, 2012 in Rhinebeck , New York ) was an American film composer and pianist .
Robbins was best known for his work for Merchant Ivory Productions , a film production company founded in 1961 by James Ivory and Ismail Merchant . From 1980 to 1984 Richard Robbins was the director of the Music School at Rivers in Weston , Massachusetts . He was nominated for an Oscar for his music for the films Wiedersehen in Howards End and What Was Left Of The Day .
