Richard Straube (politician)

Richard Straube (born December 30, 1897 in Rixdorf , † May 18, 1969 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Richard Straube attended elementary school and trained as a locksmith . In 1911 he joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) and later the SPD. During the First World War he was drafted in 1916 and suffered a war wound . After being released from the hospital in 1919, Straube initially worked in a motor vehicle trade and in 1925 set up a self-employed haulage company . In 1939 he was drafted again during World War II .

After the war Straube became an administrative clerk in the Neukölln district office , where he became chairman of the works council in 1949 . Since Jeanette Wolff became a member of the Bundestag, Straube moved up to the Berlin House of Representatives in February 1952 . At the end of 1954 he left parliament.
