Richard Waldemar , actually Kramer , (born May 3, 1869 in Vienna ; † December 27, 1946 there ) was an Austrian operetta singer (baritone) and actor.

Life

He attended middle school and came to the stage after a short career at the railroad. After attending a theater school, he had his first appearance in Opava in 1890 . This was followed by engagements in Wiesbaden and Munich . From 1893 he worked in his native Vienna: He performed in the Theater in der Josefstadt , in the Ronacher , in the Carl and Raimundtheater , in the Theater an der Wien , in the Apollo, Bürger and Johann Strauss Theater , in Danzer's Orpheum , in Colosseum, at the Weigl and also on smaller stages. At first mainly in the serious subject, later he played more and more as a comedian. He has made guest appearances at home and abroad. He spoke at RAVAG and acted in silent and sound films. Records have also been made with him.

Waldemar received the Ring of Honor of the City of Vienna in 1939.
