Richard "Richie" Burnett (born February 7, 1967 in Cwmparc , Rhondda ) is a Welsh darts player .
In 1995 he became world champion of the BDO against Raymond van Barneveld 6: 3. The following year he lost 6-3 in the final against Steve Beaton . In 1998 he played again in the final against Raymond van Barneveld, but this time lost just 5: 6. In the world rankings, the PDC Order of Merit , he was in 25th place. Surprisingly, he did not take part in the PDC World Darts Championship 2015 , according to media reports because of a violation of the anti-doping regulations. He did not renew his Tour Card for 2015.
His nickname is The Prince of Wales .
