Rick Ostermann

Rick Ostermann (born November 2, 1978 in Paderborn ) is a German film director and screenwriter . He made his feature film directorial debut in 2012 with the film Wolfskinder .

Life

After completing his schooling at the Benedictine high school Ettal and at the high school Wentorf near Hamburg with the Abitur, Rick Ostermann did his basic military service in Lüneburg. He then worked for various film and television productions as a unit manager, set unit manager and assistant director.

In addition to his first small short films directed by Rick Ostermann , he wrote and directed the short film Still . Still celebrated its premiere at the Max Ophüls Film Festival 2009.

In 2012 Rick Ostermann shot his debut film Wolfskinder with Zum-Goldenen-Lamm Filmproduktion in Lithuania. Wolfskinder had its world premiere at the 70th Venice International Film Festival . There he ran in the side row Orizzonti. The German premiere in cinemas took place on August 28, 2014.

In 2017 he presented the film Fremder Feind (alternative title war ) (again in the side series Orizzonti) at the 74th Venice International Film Festival.

Rick Ostermann currently lives with his family in Berlin.
