The Gande is an approximately 20 km long right tributary of the Leine .

course

The Gande rises near Lamspringe on the east side of the Sackwald in the Hildesheim district and flows south from there between Sackwald and Heber . It reaches the Northeim district near Gehrenrode . Shortly after the village of Altgandersheim , the Meine opens out from the left.

From Bad Gandersheim , where the Eterna joins from the left, it turns west. In the city area it is passed between the St. George's Church and the "old mill" over a weir (see illustration) and part of the river is branched off there. This flows as a mill ditch east, later south largely parallel to the Gande and flows a few hundred meters further downstream in the Gande again. The Gande then flows past the Gandersheim sewage treatment plant and on to Orxhausen , after which it turns back south and reaches Kreiensen . The Gande finally flows into the Leine between Kreiensen and Greene (Einbeck) .
