Altgandersheim is a district in Bad Gandersheim in Lower Saxony in the Northeim district .
geography
Altgandersheim is about five kilometers north of Bad Gandersheim. The village lies in the hilly landscape of Heberbörde and is the traditional center of this region. The Gande flows through Altgandersheim , which shapes the landscape of southern Lower Saxony over a length of around 20 km.
history
Altgandersheim was the headquarters of the Liudolfinger family in 852 .
In December 1816 the place got its own church. The Evangelical Lutheran parish is today connected to the parish in Kirchberg (Seesen) and belongs to the Braunschweig regional church . Altgandersheim had a postal agency since 1892 . The postal agent Wilhelm Knackstedt (1892–1916) was responsible.
On March 1, 1974, Altgandersheim was incorporated into the city of Bad Gandersheim.
