Kirchberg is a village in the district of Goslar incorporated into Seesen .

geography

Kirchberg is on the B 243 between Ildehausen and Münchehof . Several ponds are in the village. A stream called Markau also flows through it and later flows into the Nette .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1233. Ownership of the Walkenried monastery near the village is documented in 1344. In 1438 Duke Otto II took the Lords of Oldershausen into the fiefdom of Kirchberg alongside the Lords of Freden . The manor came to Heinrich II via the lords of Uslar-Gleichen and Duke Heinrich I. In the 16th century illegitimate children lived in it that Eva von Trott had with Heinrich II. Since her sons had no offspring, the estate fell to the Principality of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel in 1597 . It came to Friedrich Ulrich via the Lords of Dorstadt , who gave it to the von Campen family as a pledge. The pledge was resolved in 1849, so that the property has been connected to this house for centuries. The owner is currently Friedrich von Petersdorff-Campen .

On July 1, 1972, Kirchberg was incorporated into the city of Seesen.
