Ildehausen is located on the western edge of the Harz Mountains and in terms of population is the fifth largest village in the Goslar district after Seesen . The place borders on the district of Northeim .

geography

The place is between Harriehausen and Kirchberg (Seesen) on the federal highway 7 . The next localities are in the east Münchehof in the south Harriehausen and Echte in the west Bad Gandersheim (both in the district of Northeim ) and in the north Seesen . There are shops around six kilometers away in Bad Gandersheim, Seesen and Münchehof. A stream called Ilde also flows through it and later flows into the Nette , a tributary of the Innerste .

history

The first documentary mention was in 1147, when the place was part of the barter for the Schildberg Castle and thus became part of the Gandersheim monastery . The village was burned down during the Thirty Years War . The first chapel was also destroyed, so that the parish was moved to Kirchberg .

On July 1, 1972, Ildehausen was incorporated into the city of Seesen; Ildehausen was previously part of the Gandersheim district .

coat of arms

The local coat of arms was only introduced in 2000. It shows a yellow sword pointing vertically upwards and four ears of wheat on a blue background. The coat of arms symbolizes the wish for peace after the village was destroyed; the colors were adopted by the Duchy of Braunschweig , to which the village had temporarily belonged.

traffic

The federal highway 248 runs through the village and the federal highway 7 is on the western edge of the town . The Braunschweig – Kreiensen railway also goes through the village, but the "Ildehausen" station was closed in the 1990s. Now there is a regular bus service via Münchehof to Seesen and also to Bad Gandersheim .

religion

There are two parishes: on the one hand the Protestant parish and on the other hand the Seesen-Ildehausen parish in the New Apostolic Church in Central Germany . Both have a church building.
