Harriehausen is a district of Bad Gandersheim in the Northeim district in Lower Saxony ( Germany ). It is the largest village in the urban area and the "center" of the Harz Boerde.
geography
Harriehausen is about six kilometers southeast of the town center of Bad Gandersheim. The next localities are Dannhausen in the north, Ildehausen in the east (in the district of Goslar ) and Düderode in the south .
history
On March 1, 1974, Harriehausen was incorporated into the city of Bad Gandersheim. Until then it belonged to the old Westerhof office in the former district of Osterode am Harz .
In the summer of 2008, impressive relics of an ancient Roman-Germanic battlefield were discovered in a forest near Harriehausen. The Harzhorn event attracted great scientific interest and is considered to be archaeologically significant.
