Hachenhausen is about 5 km from the town center of Bad Gandersheim in the Northeim district in Lower Saxony in an easterly direction with an estate, a chapel and park settlement in the local area. It consists of two parts, the village and the Hebersiedlung, which are separated by federal highway 64 .
In Hachenhausen there is the volunteer fire brigade , which currently consists of around 20 active members. 8 young people from Hachenhausen are represented in the youth fire brigade .

Hachenhausen was written around 1007 "Hachemehusi" and 1249 "Hachemehusen".
The Oberamtmann or Drost of the Gandersheim Office, Anthon Ulrich Burchtorff, who died on October 15, 1736, was buried in the hereditary burial that he built in Hachenhausen.
On March 1, 1974, Hachenhausen was incorporated into the city of Bad Gandersheim.
