Rick Roberts (actor)
Richard Charles "Rick" Roberts (born November 13, 1965 in Hamilton , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor and dramaturge .
Life
Rick Roberts grew up in Edmonton , Alberta and studied acting at the National Theater School of Canada , where he graduated in 1991. He had his first role in 1992 in the television series Beyond Reality . In 1993 he played Jimmy Rousmaniere in the miniseries John F. Kennedy - Wild Youth . This was followed by an appearance in the movie Love and Other Cruelties . From then on he appeared increasingly in supporting roles in both feature films and television series.
From 1996 to 1998 he played Donald D'Arby in the television series Traders . He was nominated for a Gemini Award for his portrayal . He then played Dr. Evan Newman in the LA Doctors series . He moved to Los Angeles for this role . This was followed by another leading role in the television series An American in Canada , for which he was again nominated for the Gemini Award and for the ACTRA. It was followed by the This Is Wonderland series of lawyers .
Several guest roles followed, including in Haven , Copper - Justice is brutal , Cracked and Republic of Doyle - Einsatz für Zwei . In 2014 he was nominated twice for the Canadian Screen Award , once for a guest role on Cracked . He received the second nomination for leading actor in the movie Jack . His performance was also awarded an ACTRA. From 2015 to 2016 he appeared in the television series This Life .
In addition to his film career, he is also active in the Canadian theater. In addition to his work as an actor, he also wrote the script for some productions. His achievement has been nominated seven times for the Dora Mavor Moore Award , which is presented by the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts .
