Fritz Riebold
Fritz Riebold (born March 13, 1888 in Zeulenroda ; † December 24, 1968 in Stuttgart ; actually Friedrich Albin Riebold ) was a German writer and scout leader , later also a Protestant pastor . He is one of the founding personalities of the evangelical scout work in Germany.
Life
As a traveling journeyman , Riebold got to know the Christian (Protestant) scout work (CP) in Stuttgart around 1910 . After his return to Saxony , he also set up scout groups there in the YMCA ; at the same time he trained as a youth carer.
After the First World War , Riebold took over the reconstruction of the CP in Saxony. At first Riebold was an honorary federal leader of the Saxon CP, later a full-time federal youth worker of the YMCA in Saxony for the scout system.
In 1921 Riebold played a key role in the merger of the previously largely independent Protestant scout groups to form the Christian Scouting Association in Germany . The Neudietendorfer principles as a common founding document bear his signature.
Under his leadership, the Saxon CP took on numerous suggestions from the youth movement , which in 1922 led to a temporary split as the Tatgemeinschaft Sachsen . In this phase, Riebold was editor-in-chief of the nationwide CP magazines, a position he continued to hold despite this split.
In 1922/23 Fritz Riebold's wife Olga founded the Christian Pathfinder Association , the predecessor organization of the Association of Christian Pathfinder Women , which was based on the exclusively male Association of Saxony .
From around 1925, Riebold also worked as an author outside of the boy scout magazines . He published numerous poems , narrative texts, amateur plays and boy scout manuals. He played a key role in the publication of the Kreuzkalender (1927–1934; 1945–1990).
In 1937/38, after the Gestapo dissolved the CP , Riebold was arrested several times on suspicion of illegally continuing the Bund.
After the Second World War , Riebold became a Protestant pastor .
Private
Fritz Riebold married Olga Gruner in 1913 (* July 14, 1893, † December 31, 1970). The marriage had three children.
