Location of Riedenzhofen in Bavaria |
Riedenzhofen is a district of the municipality Röhrmoos in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau .
location
The village is about 1 km north of the core town of Röhrmoos on the district road DAH 10 . Some of the source streams of the Laffgraben, a source stream of the Amper, arise to the east .
history
Riedenzhofen was first mentioned in a document in 856 as "Hruodineshofen". The document describes an exchange between the Freising Bishop Anno and the noble Cotafrid. The historian Karl Meichelbeck named the year 784 as the first mention in 1724, but that is not certain.
Approx. A Roman road built around 130 AD ran 1 km to the north , so it is assumed that people lived in this area much earlier. Several barrows from the Bronze Age (approx. 1800 BC) were discovered in a nearby forest .
The place did not change significantly between 1809 and 1960. Only then did settlement activity begin, to which the nearby S-Bahn station contributed. Even today a lot of agriculture is still practiced.
