history
Early days
The settlement of this area by the Bavarians in the 6th and 7th centuries AD was preceded by Roman bases and, even earlier, Celtic settlements. Excavations show a settlement as early as the Hallstatt period (800–475 BC). A Roman road ran south of Biberbach. To the west it ran in the direction of Riedenzhofen , Markt Indersdorf , Altomünster and from there to the large Roman colony Augsburg , which the Romans called Augusta Vindelicum . Remnants of this road are still clearly visible in the forest near Markt Indersdorf over several hundred meters.
middle Ages
Biberbach was first mentioned in a document around 740 as " Piparpah " on the occasion of a church building by Bishop Josef von Freising. This makes Biberbach one of the oldest places in the region. From one of St. Martin consecrated church is reported as early as the middle of the 8th century. Biberbach is the earliest mentioned church in the Dachau region. In the Middle Ages the rulers changed several times.
Early modern age
In the Thirty Years' War Biberbach has been greatly affected, and the plague fell some residents victim.
19th century
In 1836 a major fire destroyed 12 houses and 8 barns and claimed three lives. From 1894 until the school reform in 1985 there was a school in Biberbach.
20th century
In 1945, at the end of the Second World War , the place was shelled, several properties and the school house burned down.
Until the regional reform in Bavaria , Biberbach was an independent political municipality with the districts of Milbertshofen and the three wastelands of Ober- , Mitter- and Unterwiedenhof . In 1978 the community of Biberbach was dissolved, Biberbach joined the community of Röhrmoos , the northern districts came to the neighboring community of Vierkirchen .
Biberbach was able to maintain its predominantly agricultural structure. However, several farmers had to give up their farms in whole or in part due to the fall in the price of their products. From the second half of the 20th century, some settlement areas were added to the core town.
