The Rieutord is a river in France that runs in the Occitania region .
course
The Rieutord rises on the southwest flank of the Montagne du Liron , in the municipality of Saint-Martial, and generally drains south-west to south. At its estuary in the Gorges du Rieutord, the river seeps into the karst subsoil and can only be seen on the surface when the water flow is strong. After 26 km , it flows into the Hérault as a left tributary on the outskirts of Ganges , on the border with the neighboring municipality of Laroque . On its way the Rieutord crosses the departments of Gard and Hérault .
