The Rifugio Città di Carpi is a refuge of the Carpi section of the Italian Alpine Club CAI in the Cadini group in the province of Belluno . The hut, which is usually open from mid-June to the end of September and at the end of the year, has 32 beds and a winter room with 2 beds.

location

The hut is located in the south-western area of ​​the Cadini group on a wide meadow saddle that connects the Val Longa with the Val d'Ansiei at 2110  m slm in the municipality of Auronzo di Cadore . Immediately to the north are the Cima Cadin della Neve 2757  m , also known as Cime di Maraia, the Cima Eötvös 2837  m , named after Loránd Eötvös , and the Cima Cadin di San Lucano 2839  m , three of the four highest peaks of the Cadini group. The Dolomites high path No. 4 leads past the refuge .

history

The Rifugio Città di Carpi was opened by the CAI Carpi section on the 25th anniversary of its foundation in 1970 after a year of construction. It is dedicated to the Alpini captain Manfredo Tarabini Castellani of the Alpini Battalion Pieve di Cadore, who was awarded the Silver Medal for Bravery and died in Greece in 1940 . The hut was expanded in 1980 and renovated several times.
