The Fonda-Savio-Hütte ( Italian : Rifugio Fratelli Fonda-Savio ) is a refuge of the Club Alpino Italiano in the Cadini group of the Sexten Dolomites .
The hut is easily accessible by day trip, serves as a base for numerous climbing tours and can be used as a stage destination for hikes through the Sexten Dolomites.
The hut is named after the three brothers Piero, Paolo and Sergio Fonda-Savio who died in World War II. The three brothers were the children of partisan fighter Antonio Fonda-Savio and his wife Letizia Svevo, daughter of Italo Svevo .
Approaches and crossings
- From the hiking car park above Misurina on hiking trail no.115 (approx. 500 meters in altitude, one hour)
- From the Auronzo hut ( 2320 m slm ) via the Bonacossaweg (2 hours)
- To Rifugio Città di Carpi ( 2110 m slm ) via the Durissini path (3 hours)
Tours
- Via Ferrata Merlone to the northeastern Cadinspitze (4 hours)
- Torre Wundt ( 2100 m slm ), classic climbing not far from the hut, difficulty IV
- Giro dei Cadini (Forcella Nevaio - Forcella Verzi - Forcella Maria - Forcella Cadin Deserto - Forcella Sabbiosa - Forcella della Torre Grande) (= Sentiero Durissini): very rewarding, strenuous high-altitude route, 4–5 hours.
