Riikka Sirviö (born April 11, 1974 ) is a former Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Sirviö, who started for the Jyväskylän Hiihtoseura , made her debut in Lahti in March 1994 in the World Cup and finished tenth in the relay. At the Junior World Ski Championships in 1994 in Breitenwang , she was seventh over 5 km classic. In the 1994/95 season she ran her first race in the Continental Cup in Ilomantsi , which she finished classically in 43rd place over 5 km and in Lahti her first of a total of 82 individual races in the World Cup, which she finished in 41st place Classically finished 10 km. At the beginning of the following season she got her first world cup points in Vuokatti with the 25th place over 5 km. This was followed by six more places in the points and at the end of the season 33rd place in the overall World Cup. In addition, she won second place with the relay in March 1996 in Oslo . In the 1999/2000 season she came in 11 individual World Cup starts, six times in the top ten and thus achieved 35th place in the overall World Cup.

In the following season Sirviö achieved with 11 results in the points in 12 World Cup participations, the 25th place in the overall World Cup, her best overall result. In January 2001, she took third place with the season in Soldier Hollow . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 in Lahti, she finished 15th over 10 km classic. Her best individual result in the 2001/02 season, which she finished in 36th place in the overall World Cup, was tenth in the sprint in Asiago . In addition, she came in January 2002 in Nové Město together with Riitta-Liisa Roponen on third place in the team sprint. In her last active season in 2002/03, she finished 39th in the overall World Cup. She achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup with fifth place in Drammen . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , she finished 30th in the sprint, 12th place over 10 km classic and sixth place in the 15 km mass start race.
