biography

Rik Fox (real last name Sulima-Suligowski) is the son of Polish immigrants. He joined his first band, Virgin, in the mid-1970s as a bass player. Other bands were Lust and SIN , before he moved to Los Angeles , California in the early 1980s and was part of the original line-up of the shock rock band WASP . According to Fox, the name of the band goes back to him when he stepped on a Wasp in the back yard of the band's rehearsal room and got the idea. Fox recorded the first demo with WASP before he left the band and joined Steeler , the band of Ron Keel and Yngwie Malmsteen . Their first and only self-titled album was released in 1983 before the band fell apart. In the same year, Fox renewed his band SIN and released a two-song single called "On The Run". As a result of the release, all musicians left the band and renamed themselves Jagwire , with former Rough Cutt member Joey Cristofanilli on bass. In 1985 Fox put together a new SIN line-up which recorded a demo called "Exploded" but which was never released professionally. When SIN finally came to an end in 1986, Fox joined Surgical Steel . In 1988 Rik put together his own band again, which was called Thunderball . Their biggest success was a Western Union commercial that was broadcast across America and featured the band under the name Putrid Rage . Fox was also recruited by the bands Angel , Starz and Quiet Riot , but turned down all offers for various reasons. A frontal crash in a car and the subsequent rehabilitation phase led Fox to say goodbye to the music scene. As a result of a reorientation, Fox is among other things on the set of the US television series "Air America" (with Lorenzo Lamas ). Rik is also a member of the "Royal Spanish Court Guild", where under the name "Chevalier Don Ryszard di Lis, Prince di Sulima, of Lechistan" he represents a traveling knight ambassador from Poland who resides in Spain.
