Risto Božinov (born April 10, 1969 ) is a former Macedonian football player .

Career

society

Risto Božinov played for OFI Crete in Greece from 1996 to 1998 . At the beginning of 1998 he moved to Macedonia to Sileks Kratovo . With the club he won the Macedonian Championship at the end of the 1997/98 season . After only half a year in Kratovo , Božinov moved to the German second division club FC Gütersloh . For the East Westphalia he made his debut on September 20, 1998 in the Heidewaldstadion against SSV Ulm . He was in the starting line-up and scored the opening goal in the 1-1 draw. Overall, Božinov completed 24 games in the 1998/99 season and scored four goals. Behind the regulars Horst Elberfeld and Daniel Stendel , he was striker number three. After the club was relegated as fifteenth in the table at the end of the season, he completed three games in the following Regionalliga West / Southwest season 1999/2000 before moving to Vardar Skopje . There he became champions again in 2002 and 2003 before Božinov ended his career in 2005.

National team

Risto Božinov played five times for the Macedonian national team from 1998 to 1999 . On September 6, 1998, the striker scored two goals in the European Championship qualifier against Malta in Skopje .
