The Rivière Manitou is a river in the Côte-Nord administrative region of the Canadian province of Québec .
The Rivière Manitou has its source north of Lac à l'Aigle in the south of the Labrador Peninsula . It flows mainly in a southerly direction through the regional county town of Minganie to the Gulf of St. Lawrence . It flows through the two lakes Lac Manitou and Lac des Eudistes . On the last kilometer before its confluence with the Grande anse de Manitou , the Rivière Manitou overcomes the La Grosse Chute rapids with a height difference of 37 m. Route 138 also crosses the river here. The estuary is halfway between Sept-Îles and Havre-Saint-Pierre . The Rivière Manitou has a length of 150 km. The catchment area covers 2642 km². The mean discharge is 66 m³ / s.
