The Rivière Matapédia is a left tributary of the Restigouche River (Rivière Ristigouche) in the Canadian province of Québec .
The river has its source on the Gaspésie peninsula in Lac Matapédia . It flows in a south-easterly direction past the municipality of Amqui and flows through the lake Lac au Saumon . The left tributary Rivière Causapscal flows into the river at Causapscal . The Rivière Matapédia now flows in a south-southwest direction and flows into the lower reaches of the Restigouche River at Matapédia . The river length is 89 km. The catchment area covers 3833 km². The mean discharge is 71 m³ / s. The national road Route 132 runs in the valley of the Matapédia along the course of the river.
