The Rivière Tortue is a tributary of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in the administrative region of Côte-Nord in the Canadian province of Québec .
The Rivière Tortue forms the outflow of Lac Tortue - about 65 km north of the south coast of the Labrador Peninsula . It flows mainly in a southerly direction through the MRC Minganie . In doing so, he cuts through the Canadian shield . About 70 km east of Sept-Îles , it finally flows into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in the municipality of Rivière-au-Tonnerre . The Route 138 crosses the flow immediately before its mouth. The Rivière Tortue has a length of 97 km. Its catchment area covers 793 km². The mean discharge is 23 m³ / s. In the east the catchment area of the Rivière Tortue borders on that of the Rivière Manitou , in the west on that of the Rivière au Bouleau .
