Band history

In the late 2000s, high school dropout Jake Roche and college dropout Danny Wilkin met and roamed Manchester as musicians. Some time later they were joined by guitarist Charley Bagnall, before they had the final line-up for the band Rixton in 2012 together with drummer Lewi Morgan . At first they were only on the move locally, but they drew attention to themselves on their YouTube channel, on which they published cover versions of Taylor Swift , R. Kelly , Rita Ora and Chris Brown . Scooter Braun, manager of Justin Bieber , brought them to a record label and in Benjamin Levin alias Benny Blanco they found a well-known producer. Her first own release followed in spring 2014, the EP Me and My Broken Heart . It was created with the support of well-known songwriters such as Ed Sheeran , Rob Thomas and Steve Mac . The theme song reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US . In her home country it was only released in the summer and immediately jumped to number one on the British charts.
