Robert Buser

Robert Buser (born October 6, 1857 in Aarau , † March 29, 1931 in Geneva ) was a Swiss botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Buser ".

Live and act

Robert Buser studied at the University of Zurich from 1877 . Between 1884 and 1924 he was the curator of the Herbarium de Candolle in Geneva . In 1897, at the age of forty, he married Charlotte Henriette Adèle Testuz. Towards the end of his life he went blind.

One of the main areas of his research was women's coats , many of which he first described . Amongst other things:

In addition to the genus Alchemilla L. , he worked on other critical clans, including those of the genera Potentilla L. , Rosa L. , Androsace L. , Campanula L. and Salix L.

Honor taxon

In honor of the genre was Buseria T.Durand the plant family of the redness plants named (Rubiaceae).
