Robert Harris (Bishop)
Robert Harris (born September 26, 1944 in Montréal ) is a Canadian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John, New Brunswick .
Life
Robert Harris was ordained a priest on May 24, 1969 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Sault Sainte Marie and titular bishop of Trofimiana on October 26, 2002 . The bishop of Sault Sainte Marie, Jean-Louis Plouffe , ordained him episcopal on December 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Vernon Fougère , Bishop of Charlottetown , and Anthony Mancini , Auxiliary Bishop of Montréal .
On May 8, 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Saint John, New Brunswick . The inauguration took place on June 15 of the same year. On October 15, 2019, Pope Francis accepted Robert Harris' age-related resignation.
