Robert "Robby" Hunke (born September 12, 1983 in Aachen ) is a German sports reporter , football commentator , filmmaker and speaker.

Career

Robert Hunke grew up as the son of a fashion designer and a graduate engineer, first in Indonesia and later in the Bergisches Land, where he worked in the entire youth soccer department at TuS Untereschbach . He graduated from high school in 2003 in Cologne . From 2005 to 2010 he studied "Sport and Communication" at the DSHS Cologne and graduated with a diploma. During his studies he founded his own online sports radio fangeist.de in 2007, for which he worked as a coordinator and commentator for football matches. He teaches there in random order as a lecturer for "Practice in Sports TV" ( as of 2020 )

In 2008, Hunke worked as a sports reporter for Radio Wuppertal 107.4 and as a Bundesliga live commentator for the first German football radio 90elf . From 2009 to 2011 he also commented and moderated for 100'5 Das Hitradio . In 2010, while still studying, he switched to the sports department of WDR television .

From 2011 Robert Hunke is part of the commentator team of the “ Sportschau ”. There he is a frequent commentator for the English Premier League . In addition, he is regularly for the WDR for sport-political background reporting abroad ( as of 2020 ). In 2015 he won the TV award of the Association of German Sports Journalists for a contribution about the European Canoe Polo Championships . He continues to work bimedially, reporting for WDR 2 and Deutschlandfunk in features about backgrounds in sport.

For ARD, among other things, Hunke worked as a story maker at Euro 2016 and commented on the beach volleyball World Cup final in Vienna in 2017. For “Telekom Sport” he regularly comments on football live. He has been commenting on top international games for DAZN since 2017 .

In January 2018, Eurosport announced the signing of Hunkes. He commented on the ice hockey tournament at the Olympic Games for the Munich broadcaster and is also on board as a live commentator for the Bundesliga games and the English FA Cup . Since 2018 he has also been active as a football and ice hockey commentator for the Swiss pay TV broadcaster Teleclub .

Private

Robert Hunke has a daughter and lives mainly in Cologne. He lives in a relationship with Natalie Amiri .

Participation in computer games

In 2011 Robert Hunke was involved in the German implementation of Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 as Audio Director .

Sporting commitment

In the 2013/2014 season he helped rebuild the Makkabi Cologne football club . The association is committed to the intercultural coexistence of football players of every religion and origin.
