Robert Marie Gay MAfr (born January 22, 1927 in Ottawa , † June 29, 2016 in Sherbrooke ) was Bishop of Kabale .

Life

Robert Marie Gay joined the Order of the White Fathers and was ordained a priest on January 30, 1954 . The general chapter of the “Society of Missionaries of Africa” elected Robert Marie Gay in Rome in 1980 to succeed Jean-Marie Vasseur as the new Superior General .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Cabal on January 11, 1996 . The Archbishop of Kampala , Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala , donated him episcopal ordination on March 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Barnabas Halem 'Imana , Bishop Emeritus of Kabale, and Paul K. Bakyenga , Bishop of Mbarara .

On March 15, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
