Robert Neumann (born April 12, 2001 in Stuttgart ) is a German pianist and composer.

Life

Robert Neumann got his first piano lessons at the age of four at the Stuttgart Music School and made his orchestral debut with the RSO of the SWR at the age of eight . He studied as a young student from the age of 11 and with Elza Kolodin at the Freiburg University of Music from the age of 15 . At the age of thirteen he received a scholarship to the Liechtenstein International Music Academy.

In 2018, Neumann was artist in residence at the Next Generation Festival in Bad Ragaz , was awarded a scholarship in the Mozart Society Dortmund's funding program and was selected by Südwestrundfunk as SWR2 New Talent 2018-2020. Here he receives funding for concerts, festivals, CD and studio productions, among other things.

Neumann entered a. a. with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the German State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate , the Stuttgart Philharmonic , Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra , Praga Philharmonic Camerata and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig .

He has also made guest appearances at Moscow Meets Friends, Kissinger Sommer , Lucerne Festival , Schwetzingen Castle Concerts, Franconian Music Days , Young Masters Piano Festival, European Culture Forum at Mainau Castle and Interlaken Classics Bern.

In 2017 he performed for the injured pianist Christopher Park at the Freiburg Tent Music Festival and is the 2019 winner of this festival.

In 2018 he was named "SWR New Talent" by the jury of Südwestrundfunk.

In 2019 he is the winner of the Zelt-Musik-Festival in Freiburg im Breisgau . At the gala he was invited by Mayor Martin Horn to celebrate the city's 900th anniversary. He won the third prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics 2019.
