Robert Parker, Baron Parker of Waddington
Robert John Parker, Baron Parker of Waddington PC (born February 25, 1857 in Alford , Lincolnshire , † July 12, 1918 in Haslemere , Waverley , Surrey ) was a British lawyer who last served as Lord of Appeal in Ordinary under the Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876 when Life Peer was also a member of the House of Lords .
Life
Parker, a minister's son, completed after the visit of Eton College to study law at King's College of the University of Cambridge and received in 1883 his legal approval to the Bar Association ( Inns of Court ) from Lincoln's Inn . He then took up a job as a barrister and in 1900 became legal advisor ( Junior Counsel ) of the Treasury ( HM Treasury ).
In 1906 he became a judge at the Chamber of Economic Matters ( Chancery Division ) at the High Court of Justice responsible for England and Wales and held this judge's office until 1913. At the same time, he was beaten to a Knight Bachelor in 1906 and has since been named "Sir".
Last Parker was a Letters Patent from March 4, 1913 due to the Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1876 as a life peer with the title Baron Parker of Waddington , of Waddington in the County of York, to the House of Lords member in the nobility called and worked until on his death in 1918 as Lord of Appeal in Ordinary . In addition, he was appointed Privy Councilor in 1913 .
His marriage to Constance Barkley resulted in a total of five children, the youngest being Hubert Parker, Baron Parker of Waddington , who last worked between 1958 and 1971 as Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales and thus also as Lord of Appeal in Ordinary .
