Robert Reid (Author)
Robert Reid (born October 2, 1966 in New York City ) is an American author and founder of the online music service Rhapsody .
Life
Reid grew up in Darien , Connecticut . He studied Arabic and International Relations at Stanford University and has an MBA from Harvard . In 1994 Reid moved to Silicon Valley to work for Silicon Graphics , where he managed the relationship with Netscape . He is married to technology journalist Morgan Webb .
author
Reid is the author of three books, the first of which, Year One, is about his time at Harvard. His second work, Architects of the Web, reports on the rise of Internet companies and related players such as Marc Andreessen from Netscape, Jerry Yang from Yahoo and Rob Glaser from RealNetworks . His third book is part of the science fiction genre and deals with the topic of pirated music .

Entrepreneur
Reid is the founder of the online music company Listen.com . In 2001 Listen.com started the music service Rhapsody. In 2003, Listen.com was acquired by RealNetworks, with Reid becoming vice president of the company.
1999 Reid a director of IGN Entertainment , in September 2005 the company was at News Corp. sold.
