Robert Reuter (politician)

Robert Reuter (born March 27, 1816 in Johannisburg , East Prussia ; † March 14, 1864 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German landowner, administrative lawyer and politician in Prussia.

Life

Reuter studied law from 1835 to 1838 at the Albertus University in Königsberg . In the summer semester of 1835 he became a member of the Corps Masovia . He was a trainee at the Higher Regional Court in Marienwerder. He later worked at the Königsberg Higher Regional Court . He was also a landowner. In 1847 he became district administrator of the Johannisburg district . In 1848 he was a member of the Prussian National Assembly , which was supposed to draft a constitution for the Kingdom of Prussia . In June 1848 he applied to the National Assembly for a commission of inquiry into the reorganization of the Posen Province and the Wielkopolska Uprising (1848) . A year later he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Prussian Parliament . There he was a representative of the extreme left. Because of his involvement in the German Revolution of 1848/1849 , he was removed from office as district administrator in 1848 and dismissed after disciplinary proceedings in 1851. Then he was the founder of the credit company and co-founder of the association to safeguard the commercial interests of credit handling . He died shortly before his 47th birthday.
