Robert Schellander (born January 31, 1983 ) is an Austrian football player on the position of defender and midfielder .

Career

Schellander began his career at SV Feldkirchen , from where he moved to the former Bundesliga club FC Kärnten . Schellander made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga on November 30, 2002, when he was substituted on for Thomas Höller in the 69th minute FC defeat by SV Ried . The Carinthian scored his first Bundesliga goal on August 6, 2002 against SC Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz . The game ended 1-1. After the relegation of FC Kärnten in 2004, he played for three years in the second division before he moved to Germany on loan to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the local 2nd Bundesliga . Due to some injuries he could not prevail and was only used with the amateurs. In 2008 he returned to Austria and signed with the Bundesliga promoted Kapfenberger SV . After two seasons with Obersteirern, the defender moved to LASK Linz at the beginning of the 2010/11 season , where he made his debut on July 25, 2010 in a game against FK Austria Wien under coach Helmut Kraft . Schellander played a total of 24 games for LASK in the 2010/11 season and was able to maintain his regular place in the 2011/12 season, which is why he aroused the interest of league competitor SC Austria Lustenau , who then announced Schellander's commitment in May 2012 gave.
