Helmut Kraft (born July 24, 1958 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian soccer coach and former soccer player .
Career as a football coach
Helmut Kraft's first coaching position was at SV Hall as a player- coach . From 1997 to 2002 he coached SV Wörgl , with whom he was promoted to the 1st division in 1998 and reached 3rd place in the 1999/00 season . Then he was hired by SC Untersiebenbrunn before he returned to Tyrol and moved to FC Wacker Tirol . This was followed by engagements at ASKÖ Pasching as co-trainer and interim trainer, and at FC Red Bull Salzburg as a supervisor. On May 1, 2006, Helmut Kraft took over the coaching position at SV Ried . A two-year contract was signed. Kraft surprisingly led the team to the runner-up title in the 2006/07 game year, which allowed them to participate in the UEFA Cup .
On October 22, 2007 it was announced that Helmut Kraft will take over the post of sports director of his former club FC Wacker Tirol, which was now called FC Wacker Innsbruck . He mainly cited family reasons for this surprising change. Since the desired coaching candidates canceled, Kraft, who was originally only supposed to hold the office of sports director, also had to act as a coach. Kraft's tenure at FC Wacker Innsbruck was unsuccessful because of the points deficit when he took office and ended with relegation from the Austrian upper house of football in the 2007/08 season. On April 28, 2008, the contract was finally canceled by mutual agreement.
On 29 April 2008, the public was informed that the Helmut Kraft in Wiener Neustadt FC Magna renamed SC Schwanenstadt will serve as coach. Kraft played a decisive role in putting together the completely new team and clearly set the season's goal with the championship title. Helmut Kraft was able to meet the expectations placed on him and led the club , which has now been renamed SC Wiener Neustadt , to win the title and advance to the Bundesliga . It is noteworthy that Kraft, although he already fulfilled the "assignment" one lap before the end, never remained undisputed.
On December 14, 2009, after the last game of the autumn championship, it was announced that Helmut Kraft would be replaced as head coach of SC Magna Wiener Neustadt at the request of club president and financier Frank Stronach and replaced by Peter Schöttel .
On February 5th, 2010 Helmut Kraft signed a contract until 2011 with the traditional Upper Austrian club LASK Linz . After a sporty downturn, LASK Linz parted ways with Helmut Kraft on November 10th of the same year.
On October 3, 2011, Helmut Kraft was again the coach of his home club SV Hall , with the task of protecting the club from relegation from the Regionalliga West . This failed, the team rose at the end of the season as bottom of the table with 18 points on the points account.
On November 23, 2012, he was introduced by the Vienna Sports Club ( Regionalliga Ost ) as the successor to trainer Franz Maresch. Almost a month after resigning from the Vienna Sports Club, Helmut Kraft succeeded Adam Kensy at SK Vorwärts Steyr on November 11, 2013 . But even in Steyr it didn't last longer than a year. At the end of September 2014, despite a good start to the season of the Regionalliga Mitte, he was surprisingly announced the amicable separation.
In November 2015 Helmut Kraft took over the lower-class Tyrolean club SK Zell am Ziller , which plays in the 1st class East.
