Robert Simon (born July 16, 1946 in Kassel ) is a German art manager, art collector, gallery owner, founder, museum founder and museum director.

Robert Simon has lived in Hanover since 1972 . After studying business administration in Cologne and graduating with a degree in business administration, he worked for the Magdeburg insurance group, initially as press spokesman and later as marketing director. In 1981 he founded the gallery kö 24 to promote young art. In 1985 he made gallery work his main occupation and focused on art in public spaces . In 1986 he developed the concept for the Hannover Sculpture Mile , which he was responsible for driving forward until it was completed in 2000.

1995 Simon showed in Celle first time a section of the grown over decades collection Robert Simon . In 1998 this temporary exhibition led to the establishment of the “first 24-hour art museum in the world”, which was given a permanent institutional framework in 2000 with the establishment of the Kunstmuseum Celle with the Robert Simon collection.
