Robert Starke (born March 25, 1977 in Montreal , Québec ) is a former Canadian - Australian ice hockey player who was under contract for much of his career with the Newcastle North Stars in the Australian Ice Hockey League .

Career

Robert Starke began his career as a hockey player in the team of Bowdoin College , for which he played a total of four years in the third division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . After a year with the Missouri River Otters from the United Hockey Legue , he moved to Europe, where he was initially on the ice for HK Vojvodina Novi Sad , with whom he became Yugoslav champion in 2002 . He also began the following season in Novi Sad, but already moved to the Heerenveen Flyers in the Dutch honor division in autumn . In 2003 he went back to his Canadian homeland and joined the Dragons de Verdun , with whom he competed in the Ligue de hockey senior majeur du Québec . In the spring of 2004 he moved to the southern hemisphere, where he stood on the ice for the Newcastle North Stars in the Australian Ice Hockey League until the end of his career in 2015 , with whom he won the Goodall Cup , the Australian in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2015 Championship, could win. In 2004 and 2009 he was also able to win the VIP Cup with the team from New South Wales and the H Newman Reid Trophy in 2010 and 2015. Only in the southern hemisphere summer 2004/05 did he return to the Flyers in Heerenveen.

International

After his naturalization, Starke played for Australia at the World Championships Division I in 2009 and Division II in 2008 and 2010 .
