Robertas Paužuolis (born October 28, 1972 in Pasvalys , Soviet Union ) is a former Lithuanian handball player . Paužuolis, who last played for the German club TS Großburgwedel and also played for the Lithuanian national team, was mostly used in the left backcourt .
Career
Robertas Paužuolis made his debut for Granitas Kaunas in the Lithuanian first division. His team has won the championship every year since the establishment of an independent Lithuanian league; therefore, Pauzoulis was soon looking for a new challenge and moved in 2002 together with his colleague Dalius Rasikevičius to Haukar Hafnarfjörður in the Icelandic league. There he won the Icelandic Championship twice and the Icelandic Cup once. In 2004 he was hired in the German handball league at Wilhelmshavener HV , but after only one year moved on to TSV Hannover-Burgdorf , which had just been promoted to the 2nd handball league . After only one year again, Paužuolis signed with Eintracht Hildesheim , which had just been promoted to the first division; there he could not find his way around, so that he returned to the Burgdorfern in October 2006. In 2010 he joined the upper division TS Großburgwedel, where he ended his career in 2012.
Robertas Paužuolis has made 115 appearances for the Lithuanian national team. With Lithuania he took part in the men's handball world championship in Japan in 1997 and took tenth place. Due to the stress of travel, Paužuolis later decided not to be appointed to the national team again.
