Roberto Cipelli

Roberto Cipelli (born August 6, 1958 ) is an Italian jazz pianist .

Live and act

Cipelli had lessons at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan from the age of eleven . After he discovered jazz for himself in 1975 , he founded the Quartetto Jazz Cremona with the guitarist Riccardo Bianchi . In 1979/80 he studied with Franco D'Andrea in Parma and Siena. From the mid-1980s he was a member of the Paolo Fresu Sextet ( Ostinato ) ; In 1988 he recorded his debut album Moona Moore with Fresu, Tino Tracanna , Marco Micheli and Manhu Roche . In the following decade he worked a. a. with Tiziana Ghiglioni , Sheila Jordan and in the ESP Trio (with Attilio Zanchi and Gianni Cazzola ). He also worked with dance and theater groups, and wrote and recorded music for film soundtracks. He has taught piano , harmony and ensemble playing in Nuoro, Milan, Bologna and Cremona, as well as jazz piano at the Melbourne Conservatory of Music. Since 1996 he has been teaching jazz at the Monteverdi Municipal Music School in Cremona. In the field of jazz he was involved in 53 recording sessions between 1985 and 2013.
