Roberto Michelucci

Roberto Michelucci (born October 29, 1922 in Livorno , † November 13, 2010 in Reggello ) was an Italian violinist .

Life

Michelucci studied at the Conservatory of Florence and won in Rome the first prize of Rassegna Concertisti . He played a. a. with the pianists Bruno Canino , Maureen Jones and Tullio Macoggi as well as with the conductors Hermann Scherchen , Bernhard Paumgartner , Lovro von Matačić , Rudolf Kempe , Gianandrea Gavazzeni and Ernest Ansermet . From 1967 to 1972 he was concertmaster of the chamber orchestra I Musici , with which he recorded several records. He devoted a large part of his working time to educational tasks; he was a professor at the Florence Conservatory and a member of the jury at several international music competitions.

Michelucci's repertoire ranged from the baroque to the present day. Recorded on sound carriers are u. a. the violin concertos op.10 by Tomaso Albinoni , four violin concertos from op.11 by Francesco Antonio Bonporti , the violin concertos L'Estro Armonico and The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi , the sonatas and partitas for solo violin and the violin concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach , four violin sonatas by Giuseppe Tartini , the Violin Concerts op. 3 by Pietro Locatelli , the Violin Concerto No. 5 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , the Violin Concerto in D minor by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and the Romanian Folk Dances by Béla Bartók . Several contemporary works were dedicated to Michelucci, including the Concerto Lirico for violin and string orchestra by Valentino Bucchi (1957).
