Roboré is a small town in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia . The city was founded on February 16, 1916 by Ángel Sandoval Peña , the Bolivian government's development officer for the poorly developed lowlands.
Location in the vicinity
Roboré is the central place of the Municipio Roboré in the province of Chiquitos and is located at an altitude of 261 m on the southern edge of the municipality. South of the city is the lake Laguna Sucuara , which is fed from the north by the Río San Carlos , bears the name Río Roboré below the city and then becomes the Río San Rafael before it flows into the Río Aguas Calientes , which in turn joins the Río Tucavaca united to the Río Otuquis , which flows further southeast to the city of El Carmen Rivero Tórrez .

Roboré is located in the Bolivian lowlands between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Central in the west and the Brazilian border in the east. To the north and east of the city runs the mountain range of the Serranía Santiago , which reaches an altitude of 1230 m directly northeast of Roboré.
The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C, the annual precipitation is about 1100 mm (see Roboré climate diagram). The region has a tropical climate with a balanced temperature profile, the monthly average temperatures fluctuate only insignificantly between 22 ° C in June and 28 ° C from October to January. Monthly precipitation is between less than 35 mm in July and August and over 160 mm in December and January.

Roboré is 409 kilometers east of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department.
From Santa Cruz, the asphalt national road Ruta 4 leads east via Cotoca , Pailón and San José de Chiquitos to Roboré . From here the Ruta 4 leads for another 203 kilometers to Puerto Suárez on the Brazilian border. A long stretch of single-track railway line that connects Santa Cruz with Puerto Suárez also runs through Roboré.
