Rockaholic is the eighth studio album by the American hard rock band Warrant , released in 2011 .

Emergence

After Warrant had made a failed comeback attempt in 2006 with a new singer, namely Jamie St. James from Black 'n Blue , and the album "Born Again" , the singer of the original line-up, Jani Lane, returned to the band in January 2008 back, but left it again in September of the same year. The singer Robert Mason, who had previously sung at Lynch Mob, was hired as a replacement .

In February 2011, the group went to the studio to record their next album, directed by music producer Keith Olsen. Rockaholic was released in May 2011.

reception

The album was received differently by different media and magazines, the reviews were mixed. The conclusion drawn on “stormbringer.at” certifies the band “solid rock food with absolute airplay suitability” , but criticizes the fact that the band “definitely won't win any new listeners from the younger generations” with the album . The album is "compared to the crisp last records of their oldie colleagues Mötley Crüe or Ratt (...) but clearly under" also ran "."

Rocks magazine wrote under the heading "Egg Celebration with Grounding":

With a new front man, Warrant sounds a bit strange at first. Nevertheless, the LP consistently stands out from its predecessor “Born Again”: The thirst for party of the eighties is far from quenched, at the same time the mid-forties [sic!] Present themselves matured according to their age and with a considerable increase in substance in their music. (...) And “Rockaholic” rocks. Keith Olsen's robust production also contributes to this, which the quintet noticeably locates in the here and now without cutting off its eighties roots.
