Rocky's knife is a German crime film from 1966 directed by Joachim Mock .
action
At the center of the action is a group of criminal youths in what is now (1966) Berlin (West). When a scuffle breaks out between some of the boys, one of them is stabbed to death. Since the knife belongs to the gang member Rocky, the judge assumes that he must have stabbed too and sentenced the boy to six years in prison. After two thirds of the prison term, i.e. four years, Rocky is released early from prison for good conduct. He knows he is innocent, and so he immediately sets out to find the real culprit. For the former gang members he has become a danger because he knows about their criminal past, from which most of them have now broken free in order to build a “normal”, bourgeois existence. Therefore they try to render it harmless and get rid of it ...
Production notes
Rocky's knife , sometimes with the subtitle The Story of the Opel-Kapitän-Gang , was the middle of three movie directors of the actor Joachim Mock. He shot and produced the work in 1966, and on March 2, 1967, the film was released in German cinemas.
criticism
Zeit judged that the film was "so annoying that a critical word about the level of the film set in Berlin is superfluous."
The lexicon of international films found that the film was "[good] meant, but colossal, clumsy and closer to the clichés of crime films than to the targeted social reality."
