Three and a Half Portions is a German comedy film from 1985 with the two Olympians Jürgen Hingsen and Rolf Milser and the slapstick Karl Dall in the lead roles as well as the TV series star Patrick Bach as a "half portion".

action

The two pilots Tscharlie and Hammer of a tiny low-cost airline with the euphemistic name "Bravo-Air" are de facto bankrupt: For months the company has not owed the landing and parking fee to the small airport in Calvia. Four high-risk emergency landings in the last month alone let the rather cautious head of air traffic control in Calcera finally tear the patience. Until the two almost break pilots have paid off their debts, their flying heap of tin is arrested.

Then one day Tscharlie, Hammer and the on-board mechanic found the solution to all their problems: The hot-headed Sicilian Fabo instructs the two flying power guys to move a coffin from Mallorca for a lot of money. Little did the three men suspect that there is something much more delicate in the wooden box than a corpse. The unsuspecting aviators soon get caught up in a tangible gangster war that is fanned by the mafia boss and drug dealer Art Melone. His opponent is called Leo Leone, and he is very keen on the contents of the coffin, a valuable load of hashish ...

useful information

The athletes Jürgen Hingsen (decathletes) and Rolf Milser (weightlifter) caused quite a stir with their performances during the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and seemed popular enough to producer Karl Spiehs to shoot a film with them in the leading roles in the best case scenario, it would attract numerous sports fans to the cinemas. Co-star Patrick Bach had become known a few years earlier with two ZDF Christmas series ( Silas and Jack Holborn ).

reception

Der Spiegel recalled that the film was "a nationwide ridiculed flop".

The lexicon of the international film saw in the strip "bad advertisement for the main actors: gross slapstick, embarrassment, fights and meat inspection alternate."
