Rodrigo José Lima dos Santos (born August 11, 1983 in Monte Alegre , Pará ), known as Lima , is a Brazilian football player in the service of Al-Ahli in the United Arab Emirates .

Career

The 1.80 meter tall and 78 kg heavy Lima played for nine different clubs in Brazil. In the 38th season of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol 2008 he scored no goal for FC Santos and then moved to Portugal to Belenenses Lisbon after a move to Ukraine to Metalist Kharkiv had failed . Here he met regularly, but missed the intended relegation in the Liga Sagres in the relegation.

He then joined Sporting Braga , a club where many of his compatriots play, and signed a three-year deal. On August 24, 2010, he scored a hat trick as a substitute in the UEFA Champions League match in the second half of the third qualifying round against Sevilla FC , resulting in a 4-3 away win (5-3 overall). In the 2011 UEFA Europa League , Lima and his club lost 1-0 in the final against FC Porto .

For the 2012/13 season Lima moved to the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon for 4.5 million euros and signed a contract for four years.

With Benfica he reached the Europa League final in 2013 and 2014. He was also the Portuguese champion in the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 seasons.
